Outreach
The Caring Club is a way for us to show we care about our members and friends who are ill or in the hospital. We provide useful items, snacks, reading materials, and things to bring a smile!
We are participating in Shoreline Spruce-Ups the second Saturday of every month. Join us as we clean up the shoreline of White Rock Lake Park. We will be participating in this activity every month, so mark your calendar!! This is a family-friendly activity! So bring the kids! All of the spruce-up supplies are provided, including trash bags, recycling bags, and latex gloves. Please remember to wear rubber boots or shoes that you don't mind getting wet or dirty. Feel free to bring any other items such as a rake to gather trash. Breakfast is provided. This is an excellent community service project. We will meet at 8:30 a.m. at the For The Love of The Lake office in Casa Linda Plaza.
Please bring gently-used suits and dress shoes that you would like to donate to the March gathering. We will be donating these to Family Gateway. Since 1986 more than 3,800 homeless families have been housed and assisted by Family Gateway and over 7,300 children have been nurtured and protected. They can use these items to provide appropriate dress clothing to be used for job interviews. Please see: familygateway.org
We will be doing a future Homeless Outreach. We would like to distribute toiletry items to the homeless. Please bring to the March gathering any new toiletry items you would like to donate. So when you're at the grocery store purchasing items such as bath or beauty products, throw an extra item or two in your cart for the needy!!
Ready to join in the fun? Please find locations, dates, times, and RSVP on meetup.com/FoFDallas/.
